The contrast is indeed very, very nice! What software are you wielding these days?

Still Photoshop! But i got a Cintiq 13HD ... and ive still yet to get used to it or sort out the colour settings, hehe, which is probably why the contrast is so high :)

Yeah but it works. Genuinely looks like shade. You always seem to nail down the atmosphere of the scene. You must be having so much fun with your Cintiq. Would you ever look back now? :P

Errrrrrr actually you know, im not 100% sold on it for me. Thing is, i *have* gotten used to drawing with my wacom over the past 9 years, and the cintiq kinda messes up my flow a little - one of those things being the lack of touch strip. I change my brush size like a motherfucker whilst im painting with a wacom, but its all buttons on the cintiq, so muscle memory and flow kinda gets messed up - i have to use the brush size slider on the right and thats just yuck. Also, simple things like your hand obscuring what youre looking at a bit more ... takes some getting used to

But yeah! Theyre different. Main reason i got it is so that i can sit curled up in my armchair and scribble away, all hunched over and absorbed, and without distraction from t'internet! and it works for that. Just gotta iron out the kinks and make it work for me

Yeah I can imagine how much it messes with your flow. It's gonna be a totally different feel. I doubt it's going to be an issue for me because I still have my shitty little Graphire 3 so any change is going to be a step up. I basically just need a bigger work surface so I can stop giving myself hand injuries lol.

I'm looking at the Yiynova DP10U which is pretty Cintiq-like. It's nice and portable and as soon as I saw it, I thought about exactly what you're doing with your cintiq; curling up on the sofa and indulging. There's only so long I can sit at my desk without my back hurting or whatever. Luckily the internet doesn't distract me when I'm balls deep in a drawing/painting. The world is dead to me :D
